Re: Nick Diaz calls out Roy jones Jr.... I love it!
HAHA!! I'm not being harsh..just busting your balls. Look, I really like Roy Jones. I always have. I just don't watch boxing any more. The only reason that Bas quit fighting was because of his knee problems....not because he was getting old and losing it. I am not saying that Nick would win. I just think it would be a much better fight than people think.
Anderson also has boxing experience. I think he would fare much better than Nick just because of his superior head movement. Anderson has the quickness, power, measurements, experience, and movement that it would take to actually pull out a victory. Do I think he would beat Roy Jones? No. Do I think he has a chance to win? Yes.
My thing is this...Nick and Anderson focus on well rounded training for MMA because that is what they do. Now a fighter is a fighter no matter what discipline. They all have the eye hand coordination, the fighter mentality, the fighting experience, the toughness, and the heart to win. If you take Nick and Anderson and book a fight with the against Roy Jones. They would have probably 6 months to train strictly in the area of boxing. That would in no way make up for the training that Roy Jones has had, but they would get in enough work to have some good defense skills to defend against the limited number of strikes that come at you in boxing. Both Anderson and Nick have fought guys that have as much or more quickness than Roy Jones. And their defense has to be much better in MMA because the strikes can come from many different places. Concentrating on the chest muscles in boxing tells you what direction the punch is coming from. I really don't see them having a problem with good enough defense to take it the distance.
