According to MMAJunkie.com, fighters Chris Leben and Jake Rosholt have both verbally agreed to fight each other at UFC 102 on August 29th in Portland, Oregon. The fight will be the first fight back for Leben after his Unanimous Decision loss against Michael Bisping at UFC 89 in England. After the fight Leben tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol and has been suspended since.
Jake Rosholt will be making his second appearance in the UFC when he takes on the hard punching Leben. Rosholt's first appearance came at Ultimate Fight Night 17 on Febuary 7th of this year in which he lost to up and comer Dan Miller in the very first round. Rosholt, a three-time NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and four-time All-American at Oklahoma State University has relied on his extremely impressive wrestling background though much of his young career. On the other hand, Rosholt's stand up game has proven to be his weakness and has looked less than stellar during most all of his fights.
This fight should be very interesting as it is pretty obvious as to what each fighter will be trying to do. Leben will want to keep the fight standing and land his heavy hands as early and as often as possible and try to exploit Rosholt's stand up. While Rosholt on the other hand should be looking to take the fight down and impose his will against Leben with his superior wrestling.
Other fights that are scheduled to be on the card are Brandon Vera Vs. Matt Hamill, which MMASpot has confirmed, as well as a rumored bout between former champions Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
