    my Son got his first stripe!

    on his white belt in BJJ

    its not like karate or tae kwon do where you can get a black belt in 2 years

    rank comes slow, 2-3 years for a blue belt (the next rank after white)

    he is going to be a formidable kid. he already has karate experience and won 1st in a regional tourney and now with ground skills he is going to be a badass in a year or so.

    10 years old and almost 5' tall and he is super lean (like i wish i was) i am gonna have to beat the girls off with a stick when he gets to high school LOL

      That's awesome! We have our 5 year old in Tae Kwon Do and it takes 3 to 4 years around here to get your black belt. It must depend on the school or something!

      Anyways, a big congrats to your son and keep up the good work!

          my daughters instructor is a 4th degree black belt and has studied in korea and this guy is a black american dude.He is a very excellent teacher and doesnt pass his students if they are not ready.He has tournaments and his students are taking first all the time. he has students who are not even black belts beating people who have had there black belts a long time. Glad to hear about your son jipped

                thats good many schools give out belts to every kid on a schedule regardless. it means more if you really have to take your time and earn it
