Re: RAMPAGE
I don't agree. Rampage has nowhere near the skillset that Forrest has. Rampage has KO power and descent standup. Forrest has more technical standup, more stamina, a much much better ground game, and better scrambles. I think Forrest is an underrated fighter.Originally posted by RollPlayer View PostRampage wins that fight 8 out of 10 times.
When Joe Rogan interviewed Rampage, he didn't make any excuses. He just said that he got his butt kicked."He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

Re: RAMPAGE
I disagree that Rampage lost it hands down. It was a close fight, I think Rampage's reaction to the leg kicks left a lasting impression on the judges (which it should have). The only excuse that I think is legitmate for Rampage is the fact that he took way too much time off. He got up to 240-250lbs. That will hurt you against any fighter, especially one of top caliber.
Forrest deserved to win, but by no means did he destroy Rampage. Different judges may have called it differently, but the leg kicks are what set the tone for the fight.Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

Rampage did pretty well on the ground against Dan Henderson who is a great wrestler.Originally posted by tn94z View PostI don't agree. Rampage has nowhere near the skillset that Forrest has. Re: RAMPAGE
That doesn't mean he has a ground "game" though. He just has the strength to fight off his opponent. He was clueless when Forrest got on top. He looked like Alexander against Silva when he was lying there. Wrestling and scrambling are completely different that having a BJJ game. Many of the fighters who have never wrestled can do pretty well just from athletic ability. Now Rampage was a wrestler and add that to his quickness and strength and he can hold his own against a wrestler. But once it gets in a grappling situation, he has no chance and he will tell you that. I mean that guy got submitted in under 2 minutes by CB....Don't get me wrong, I really like Rampage...I just think he has a Liddell type of game where he just looks for the one big shotOriginally posted by MAK2102 View PostRampage did pretty well on the ground against Dan Henderson who is a great wrestler."He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

Re: RAMPAGE
AGREE^^^^ but i do think chuck has a little more in his arsenal then we see. when he got wandi down right away he dragged wandi to the fence pulled his arm back and tried to knee on it to land punches to the head.Disclaimer: Steroid use is illegal in a vast number of countries around the world. Re: RAMPAGE
I agree 110%. Buster Douglass beat Mike Tyson. Tyson easily wins that fight 99 of 100 times. He had a good day and stuck to his game plan. I'm not taking anything away from Griffin's abilities. But if Jardine could beat him, I'm sure Rampage could beat Jardine.Originally posted by RollPlayer View PostRampage wins that fight 8 out of 10 times.“I don't look ahead... Re: RAMPAGE
Most people were sure that Rampage coule beat Forrest too. I just don't think the 8 out of 10 is true. I mean Rampage threw Forrest off his gameplan and he still won. KO is the only way that Rampage wins a fight with Forrest. Every time it goes to decision will be a Forrest victory and that doesn't count the times that Forrest gets the sub. I just think that Forrest has an all around better game. I also think that if Liddell would utilize all of his abilities instead of waiting on the one big punch, then he beats Ramapge also. In my eyes Rampage is too one dimensional for fighters of today...granted he beat Henderson, but Henderson didn't put up as much of a fight as Forrest did IMO. Either way, I like him and hope he gets back soon....a rematch will definately tell us the answer to these questions.Originally posted by angryoldman View PostI agree 110%. Re: RAMPAGE
Also, Jardine got beat by Houston Alexander....using your MMA math, that means that Alexander beat Jardine who beat Forrest who beat Rampage....so that must mean that Houston Alexander can beat Rampage"He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

Re: RAMPAGE
Its all in the matchup....Rampage would be a good matchup in Alexanders eyes because its a guy that likes to stand up and throw. I dont see Alexander beating Rampage, but under those circumstances, hed have a fighters chance.Originally posted by tn94z View PostAlso, Jardine got beat by Houston Alexander....using your MMA math, that means that Alexander beat Jardine who beat Forrest who beat Rampage....so that must mean that Houston Alexander can beat RampageDiscipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.
