  • Dana mentions possible fight between GSP and Penn!!

In a recent interview with Sportsnet.ca, Dana White suggested that GSP vs. B.J. Penn II could happen in 2008. As the current UFC Lightweight Champion, White would like to see a few more fights for Penn (13-4-1) at 155 lbs. before moving up to fight Georges St. Pierre (16-2) at 170 lbs. White did recognize that this was the fight everyone wanted to see and said that it could happen as early as this year. He also mentioned that it might be part of the New Year's Eve show.
The last fight between GSP and Penn was an epic battle that resulted in a controversial split decision for GSP at UFC 58 in March 2006.
This is a fight I have been waiting for!!! I hope this does happen soon!!

Agreed. He has a new nutrition program that he started once he decided to focus on his MMA. From what I have read he now cuts and adds weight the correct way. He has fought in the HW division before, so he can gain the wieght. He probably walks around about 175-180 any way...so he would have far to go. he might even be in better shape because he wouldn't have to cut the weight before the fight.
