the fight should of been stopped in the 2nd. kimbo should ofm lost the ref didnt stop it and it should of been. kimbo was not defending himself. and niow the ref just stopped it and even the commentators said it shouldnt of been stopped./it was bull ****. kimbo is nothing. the ref should be suspended


james thomson even hit the ref in the face. this fight should of not been stopped.

i agree, james thompson was supposed to be a veteran, but i almost thought he was paid to go out there and just take punches. He didnt even try to block any punches. He basically left his arms by his side not even trying to defend the punches. I think it was a lame stoppage but im pretty sure Elite paid James to lose to build up Kimbo's rep. He is there money maker right now, so of course they wouldnt let him lose. Money is being handed under the table.

ok here is my opinion..and its not a biased one because i used to HATE kimbo...hes an older guy and his stamina is crap..he gets gassed quick..hes got seriously heavy hands though...i think we need to keep in mind that he hasnt been training his ground game for very long..so yeah..his ground skills arent there yet..but one thing he does have going for him is that hes being trained by one of the greatest mma fighters ever...i think if he had gotten into mma a few years ago he would have faired better..hes not going to go real far i dont think but he is a good fighter..but with that said...i agree that that fight shouldnt have been stopped..what a horrible call on the refs part...i hate seeing guys go in there, last 3 rounds and just get robbed by some bs call...but i guess a wins a win and kimbo can look at the tape and figure out where he needs work...what i do know is BAS RUTTEN IS THE EFFIN MAN!!!

i flipped thru it, it was pretty much low totum pole fighters, and thus, i only watched maybe ten minutes in total, plus, it was so f'n slowwwwwwwwww

that ref was terrrible in every match he did. For the first ever prime time MMa fight and they get a shyt ref like that to ruin it. he denied the fans a great fight. I have NEVER seen such a shiytty job of refereeing in my life. What a phuckein joke. No way that fight should have been stopped.

KIMBO AND I THINK LAWLER GOT ROBBED. HE WAS WINNING THAT FIGHT AND THE GUY GOT POKED IN THE EYE AND HE HAD 5 MINUTES BUT HE DIDNT TAKE THE 5 MINUTES. BUT HE SURE WAS OK AFTER THE FIGHT WHEN HE WAS TALKING. SO IT WAS A NO CONTEST AND THEY WILL DO IT OVER

The Kimbo fight is bs .....its all about marketing to make him so great imo . He needs to build up his stamina and ground game ,etc but if he was straight brawling not mma I bet on Kimbo most of the time . And yeah that Lawler fight fu_k d doc ....I cant see 2 times and thats it ,he had 5 minutes folks ?

I want to create an MMA where they advise you to take aas just,onsters fighting and no holds bar like the Kumatae (Bloodsport) but it would have to be somewhere legal : ) hmm this would blow all the MMA ratings ,lol

They should have NEVER allowed EliteXC to be the national TV pioneer for MMA... I think the sport took a step backwards last night in trying to legitimize and make it more main stream... it was like seeing a 3rd class MMA show at the Indian Casino with a bunch of nobodys... The only exception was the Lawler/Smith fight... the rest of it was a joke

I agree that Kimbo is MAJORLY OVER-RATED!!! However I do enjoy watching him fight...he is a big promotions machine and they are building him up the right way.

I think if Kimbo puts his heart into this sport and continues to work on take-down defense he could very well develop into a GREAT fighter!!! He is strong and pushed Thompson around and got up rather easily when he got taken down and wasn't any any threat as far as being submitted. I AGREE IT COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED WHEN THOMPSON HAD HIM PINNED DOWN...but he apparently was still good to go just didn't know how to turn the hips and get outta there (which will come with more experience)...

ALL IN ALL he is over-rated...BUT I think it is very possible that he will become a great fighter someday...we will see

No offense to stray but the age excuse is overrated. Randy Couture is over 40 years old and has the stamina to go all five rounds. Kimob is only 34 years old so there is no excuse, he did a piss poor job of conditioning because he only trains for first round knock outs. Thompson was poorly conditioned too, if that was just about any other heavy weight and they had Kimbo on the ground they would have got the TKO. Thompson was so gased that this punches on the ground did not and should not have counted. I for one do NOT think it should have been stopped because Thompson was not delivering ANY punishment at all. The was love tapping the dude for crying out loud. Both of those guys were poorly conditioned IMO. Kimbo had better learn some ground game or the next guy is going to ground and pound him.
