I use to a loooong time ago...I took Tae kwon do for 7 yrs when I was a kid and after college started up again and took it and jj for almost 3 yrs before cracking some ribs and getting married...it was in hte early stages of MMA in mid 90's....fun though
jipped... i just started with an MMA school. I like it too, but i am feeling really beat up... i am still adjusting to working all my small balancing muscles.... and my joints are killing me from all the locks.
I'm Just an old chunk of Coal, But I'm gonna be a DIAMOND some day.
Can't say I really "train" MMA but I get in there for a little work once or twice a day with some cats the compete. This one dude Kevin lives about 30 min. from me and he's a damn animal. He says he may be gettin into the UFC some time next year. He's a bad boy but I don't really think he's ready for that quite yet.
When I was living in Miami for a few years...I trained at Gracie School in Aventura and ATT in Ft. Lauderdale...It's a lot fun...I've always done greco all my life, so jiu jitsu is great for me.
Ive trained in MMA for about 5 years now. Love it, it DOES take a serious toll on your body though. I have fought in a few torneys and the bottom line is, while i love it.....unless you are willing to quit your job and go full out, and dream, its never going to pay the bills.
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.
What lies before me and what lies ahead of me are small compared to what lies within me.
I started jui-jitsu about 7 years ago, moved over to BJJ and have been in and out of it over the last few years. I love it but it is hard to do everything you want when you have a family. I have to divide my time between my kids, my wife, my weightlifting, shooting, and Martial arts, university.... Lets just say it is usually the martial arts that gets left behind when push comes to shove but I love it nontheless.
