Re: new kimbo fight
well, that guy learned a good lesson, dont turn your back in a fight.
kimbo has long ass arms and is an accurate puncher (and has a tough head like a rottweiler). i would love to see him in a 3- 2 minute round exhibition boxing match with a pro HW boxer and see how well he does
i am damn sure every one of the guys he fights are tough but they arent trained

Re: new kimbo fight
Here's what gets me....since when did street fights become limited to boxing only. Hell, I grew up in Atlanta and as a white boy in ATL you can bet your ass I got in my fair share of street fights. You never stay on your feet unless you are a good boxer. You take that shit to the ground. Now, I don't know the 'rules' but every fight I ever got into growing up we had only one rule, no weapons, ever. That was it. And, the fight ended when you couldn't fight back. Well, for the most part. Sometimes you got your ass beat until the guy was tired, or, visa versa, depending on who was around.

I'm not saying that he was a competitive boxer but I am pretty certain his skills were developed in a boxing club with some years put into drilling and sparring.
If Kimbo were to fight a boxer the outcome would depend on the rules. In sanctioned boxing matches the fight goes on for numerous rounds requiring physical stamina, mental stamina, heart and tenacity to go along with boxing skills. You have to be really dedicated to your training to be prepared come fight time.
In a street fight/street boxing match you can focus on a fast knock out and not have to worry about staying fresh for 30+ minutes.
Kimbo has mad skills and tools. It showed in his fight against Sean Gannon that his stamina, at that time, wasn't "A" class. This leads me to believe that Kimbo probably doesn't train to extensively. Street boxing fits Kimbo quite well and has made him an underground legend.
There will always be some local tough guy idiot out there who will watch him fight on video and think that he can beat him. This will keep Kimbo in business and keep him "gettin his bread."

The rules are in place before the fight. Kimbo's videos are premeditated fights. I believe to fight Kimbo you have to put up some thing like $10,000 and the winner takes all. I could be wrong on the dollar amount but it is something along those lines.
