Re: What I learned training in Singapore....

I am a MT freak. I have done it almost 10 years and have the rank of assistant coach.

I still relish my camp and love to train. My dream is to go to Thailand and train. We had a guy from Singapore train with us for a while. His boxing was fair but his clinch and knees were top notch. As were he kicks. But then in western Muay Thai we tend to train a lot more boxing. In Asia knees, kicks and elbows are scored higher than punches where as in the USA most MT judges are also boxing judges. I have only had 1 sanctioned fight I lost to a bigger young guy but have done good in smokers getting the better of 75% of my opponents.

People do not understand how brutal MT training is. Let's be honest it is painful at many times. But i love it. thanks for the vid. I have seen a lot of his vids, He has great vids to help a fighter deal with longer reach (I am 5'11" but have short arms for my height) and taller guys. My coach trained under one of the MT greats and was awarded Khru by him.

I am no real fighter, too old, too slow. but I have some spirit left at my age.

      Again thanks for the vid.
