Nfl gets rid of kickoff returns

How effing stupid is this? Trying to make the game safer they are ruining the game. They want to eliminate hard hitting...they want to make it more "soccer" like. This new rule makes no sense at all
The NFL Competition Committee met Monday in New Orleans to propose a host of rules changes, one of which is a plan to move kickoffs up to the 35-yard line from the 30. The theory is that the shorter distance will lead to more touchbacks, which will cut down on the violent impacts that lead to injuries for special-teams players.

I dont see this getting passed. It would change football as we know it big time.If your going to pay me millions of dollars a year then you better beleive i'm putting my neck on the line to make some hits and to take them as well.This wont happen and just say it does people wont watch football much imo. Whats next tag football for QB's only

Thats not too far fetched to have tag on the qb, the way things are going. These owners dont want their investemnts injured so they want to make the game less violent, it all comes down to money...

your title is very misleading...they didn't get rid of kick off returns they just moved where the kick is from, stopped two man wedge (four man was stopped year before), this very well could have no affect on kickoffs at al...maybe a few more touchbacks...
