  • USC Trojans

I love to watch proof that they suck when it rarely happens. Which, it happened yesterday when Washington, yep, I said Washington, which they don't play much tougher the whole season, but Washington beat USC 16-13. Washington broke a 15 game loosing streak with the Trojans yesterday.

What gets me is every year, the BSC ranks the joke of a team called Trojans up in the top 3. Sometimes #1. And it's just complete bs because they play no-one! And No-one beats them every now-and -then. Who was it last time?..Stanford.lol...Stanford actually has dudes that know some of the rules of football. Enough to put a whoopin on USC a couple years ago.

Go Washington! USC Get real BSC. Better yet, go bye-bye.
    ....That's BCS...

Not to offend anyone who likes the Trojans, but I'm not a fan!! Not at all! I've stuck with my UofA Wildcats thru thick and thin, loosing and loosing! LOL No, there records been better over the last few years. Hopefully it will continue to get better. It takes time to rebuild. Stanford has always been kind of my second fav.
But as bad as I hate to say, I'm more of a Basketball fan!! Looking forward to see ing what my cats have to offer this year since we have moved past the Lute trama!

what?! college football kicks ass! Well, rephrase...SEC football kicks ass. Being a Dolphin fan, though, I can understand why some folks don't care for college ball much. Most college games are like watching a shytty high school game. Kind-of the point of this thread.

I've never been much into basketball.

I'm with ya on the college ball thing. It's more exciting to me. It's fun to watch the explosive plays all day. Back to back TD drives. Games with scores, rather than just punting the ball back and forth like half the pro games. razzle-dazzles, punt fakes, 2 point conversions, flea flickers, etc...High scoring, nail biters instead of 10-13 nail biters. Guys that are still playing for the absolute love for the game, yet to become the prima-donnas of the game.

I can't hate on the pros though. I love football, period. It's my favorite contact sport to watch aside AMA road racing. Gator ball though...I'm glued to it.

There is a major wrong in college football, and it's called the BCS. It needs to be 86ed, and we need a true play-off system. I just don't know how it's gone so messed up for so long.

College ball is for those that love the sport and play for free looking to make it to be a Superstar. Sad thing is when some thugs get there, they blow it for all the rest.

USC has always been a superb football team but with their over confidence they blew it and out of the top 10.

gator gator gator...."USC has always been a superb football team"!...and this coming from an LSU man?!! I'm flabbergasted! Have you viewed the Trojans schedule ever?

                  Date Opponent Result
                  Sep. 5 San Jose St. W 56-3
                  Sep. 12 at Ohio State W 18-15
                  Sep. 19 at Washington L 13-16
                  Sep. 26 Wash. St. 7:15pm
                  Oct. 3 at California 5:00pm
Oct. 17 at Notre Dame 12:30pm
                  Oct. 24 Oregon State 5:00pm
                  Oct. 31 at Oregon 5:00pm
Nov. 7 at Arizona State 5:00pm
                  Nov. 14 Stanford TBA (homecoming)
                  Nov. 28 UCLA 7:00pm
                  Dec. 5 Arizona 12:30pm

Notice who they pick for homecoming. Stanford. I hope homecoming doesn't turn out anything like their '07 meet with the Stanford Cardinals.

I'm sorry, and I hope fans just shake this off and continue to feel the love for their conference, but Pac 10, Big East, Big 10, Big West, etc...The breaks these conferences have throughout their schedule is ridiculous when conpared to the SEC. I didn't say there aren't teams on there that aren't good, but the proof is in the pudding when they show up in a championship game. It'd be great to have the breaks every other conference has...within their conference! We get a beater and get to see what our next QB will look like and glimpses throughout the year if the spread is made, but it's been a hard season when they come like this:

horse dude you have got to be kidding me with this thread. I won't argue the fact that you do or don't like USC, bust you can't say they aren't good. The PAC 10 is a solid conference. Look up their bowl record from last year. Those were against non pac 10 teams. You gotta understand for 6 or so of those teams if they only win 1 game and it's against usc they consider their season a success. You call them a joke but let me see they beat Ohio state two weeks ago. Hmm, I guess they blow. Maybe they lost because they had no qb, it's not an excuse, they might as well started an 8th grades back there that guy blew ass. Your an SEC fan and i believe a florida fan even more so i know there is gonna be no changing your mind. But i think the fact that they have the second most national championships speaks for it's self. Oh explain to me why florida can lose a game and still get a build at the national championship but not USC.

Well, James, for me USC, its just the whole attitude when AZ plays them, I think folks don't like. I have some very good friends that got their degree's from USC, (I don't hold it against them!! LOL) but for example if you notice, no matter what their record or what recruits they have, they are always higher rated them some of the teams who are consistently better than they are. Or at least it holds true for Basketball. I have season tickets for the UofA Wildcats, and I always go to there away games when they play the Cali teams. Especially when they play Stanford and University of Cali Berkley!! always a great game!! As is USC.

Same here~!! With BB at least more than one person gets the ball!! I really like to watch the way these kids progress in 4 years or if they go to the Pros right away! We've had alot of them turn Pro from UofA's program. But there BB program has been outstanding thru the Lute Olsen reign of coaching. Its going to be interesting to see what happens without him. I would like to see who is consistantly better than USC in football. I think your going to be hard pressed to find numbers on that one. I mean USC hasn't lost to a big 10 team in what 10 years i do believe. Come on now to say they suck is ridiculous. You wanna see an over rated team take a look at some of the Big 12 and the SEC. some of those teams are very high ranked and shouldn't even be on the same field as USC. USC is going to have a poor year this year and they are not what they once were. They will be back however.

                            Re: USC Trojans

Come on james. I love the fact that the big bad Buckeyes are used as a measuring stick. Please refer to Ohio St's kickass 2007 season where they made it to the Chamionship game against an Florida, an SEC team. Ohio St took a whippin to the tune of 27points. FL-41 Ohio St-14. And you are right james. The Buckeyes were on fire. They made it to the championship game the very next year. But, unfortunately they met an LSU there. Another SEC team. And LSU put it to 'em 38-24.

Now you have got to be kiddin me if you're saying that the Big 10 or Pac 10 has to play anywhere near the football that has to be played weekend after weekend in the Southeastern Conference. Come on man.

Every great team can get beat on any day. And if it's 1 loss, that statement can stand, but to go back to back against 2 different SEC teams and the outcome...I'm sorry, but I'd find a better measuring stick than the Buckeyes.

The Big 12. There's a conference with a few threats. Bob Stoops is a great coach. He made it all the way last year.

I'll agree that almost every conference has a team or 2 that could go. But james, if you think that the SEC is over-rated, and any team in the SEC has more than 1 "gimme"...that they don't have to play like it's a champoinship game every weekend, you're one of the few. I'm not gonna try to get you to understand where I'm coming from with the SEC. If you literally believe that the Pac 10, Big 10 is just as tough. Just refer to the meetings of Buckeyes with an SEC team. You don't have to go back far.

That's also another reason there needs to be a playoff system in college football, badly. Then there would be no room for Trojans to talk this and that after their rigorous schedule that puts them up in the top almost every year.
