Ok, I dont understand this logic. I was reading today that Candace Parker of Tennessee was the first collegiate player to leave school early for the WNBA. She said as a player, she was ready to make the big jump. Big jump to what? I did some quick research on google and did you know that rookies in the WNBA are capped at $30k/year? The best player in the league was paid 97k but the norm for players with 3 years experience is around $42k. To put it into perspective...by comparison the minimum NBA salary last year was $385,277. Parker was drafted today by the Los Angeles Sparks. You probably cant even buy a house in L.A. for under 450-500k. The cost of living is 86.8% higher in Los Angeles than it is in Knoxville Tennessee, therefore, Parker would need to make $56,035 as a rookie to maintain the "current standard of living" that a person making 30k in Knoxville would have. Combine that with the fact that the average 3 year vet only makes 42k.....and Im not understanding her logic. So again I ask....the jump to what? Sorry for the rant. STAY IN SCHOOL.

Man, when I lived in Portland I had a supervisor that was a lesbian. Everytime I called her she was at a WNBA game there in P-town. Turns out, all the gay women go there... they are like groupies to the pro-women players (not that all the WNBA players are gay, they're not). It was also a pick up place to find other gay women...
I can NOT handle watching a WNBA game. F'ing boring!!!

She'll make her money from sponsors. Jordan made something like four times more money from Nike than he did the NBA. If she's good and it will get teenage girls to guy whatever she's wearing, drinking or whatever, she get paid well for it.
