Good article except I don't agree with the blame on hip-hop. Most of my friend's and I grew up listening to the most rugged hip-hop in the 1990's (Wu-tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Heltah Skeltah, Coca Brovas, OGC...etc.). We all have Masters Degrees or PhDs and don't behave foolish. Plus we all grew up in the ghetto. Those athletes just have ego problems. They are getting paid big bucks and think they are God's gift to football and can do what they please since they are good. It has nothing to do with listening to hip-hop. If it is due to hip-hop then I thank God for not allowing me to be so easily influenced by music.

It's not the music, it's the culture. What I love is the fact Jason Whitlock is black, otherwise the NAACP would have already started their law suit.

T's right, the article is referring to hip hop as a name for the culture and ideals. I fully agree that you can listen to whatever music out there and not turn into a statistic it is personal choice. But these athletes have been coddled most of their lives and now the true colors show. (yes I know there are exceptions)

Yeah, I'm all for being happy but some of that Deon Sanders crap is nothing more than show boating crap! Show us what you can do with the ball, then hand the ball to the ref and walk off the field. That's what I love about Sutherland (FB for the Georgia Bulldogs), everytime he breaks out a 15 yard run or everytime he runs over 2 LB's to get in the endzone, he gets up, hands the ball to the ref and jogs off the field. The dude is a class act. Take LT for example (the Chargers LT), that dude doesn't dance around in the endzone like some jack ass and yet he holds the record for most touchdowns in a season. Emitt Smith is another one, Barry Sanders another one. Never once do I recall watching Barry juke the whole team twice and then make any kind of sarcastic remark to the other team. These idiots today will make one catch and start talking crap to the DB. Grow up you idiot and have some class.

Don't get me wrong, it's a game, you want to win and you get excited when you score....I get all that....it's the way they act about scoring that is unnecessary in many cases. Now, if a lineman catches a deflected pass and drags 5 guys into the endzone, yeah, I'd like to see the fat guy do the fat guy dance. But the guys who get to score day in and day out, just do your job and get off the field. You don't see the lineman dancing around everytime they keep the defensive guy from sacking the QB do you? Nope.

Too much show boating going on.
