  • This weekend: Mayweather vs. De La Hoya

I've seen many De La Hoya fights, and I've seen many Mayweather fights. I've seen Oscar in trouble much more than Mayweather. The only person who put Pretty Boy Floyd to the test was Zab Judah. And for a while, I was thinking Zab was going to KO him. But in Pretty Boy style, he came back, pressed the fight, and won.
In some of Oscars biggest fights, he came out flat. Mostnotably was his Bernard Hopkins fight. Granted, Hopkins was a pound for pound fighter, but De La Hoya's defense was pretty bad. His 2 fights and losses with Sugar Shane showed a lot of weak spots to. And a huge part, even bigger than people think, is the fact that Roger Mayweather is not training Oscar. He is in fact in his sons corner. He knows Oscars fighting style. He knows his weakness. He knows his vulnerability. He has been teaching that to Floyd, and it will come a huge factor in the fight.
All I can see is Oscar taking the place of Arturo Gotti, and his face getting badly beaten, and his eye closing by the 6th round. I really don't think this fight is going to be pretty for De La Hoya. I say Pretty Boy KO's him a little past the half way mark.

Freddie Roach isn't much to look at. But intodays game, he's about the best trainer there is.
I haven't been watching the HBO 24/7 special. But I did see one part that made me laugh.
Mayweather said "There's always a good guy and a bad guy fighting. I chose to be the bad guy. Phuque it."

Yes pally. It's PPV, and I believe it's $60. Actually, it wouldn't matter to me if it was $100. I would still pay to see it! Mayweather is that damn exciting to watch. However, if you don't want to pay $60, wait about 2 to 3 weeks. HBO will usually have the fight on.

its the biggest fight in a long time imo, if your a bocing fan you have to watch it..The UFC is taking over, bc it seems like great match ups like mayweather/delahoya only happen once every 2 yrs or so.

I agree. The last magnitutde of a fight like this was the Tyson/ Holyfield fight. The De La Hoya/Mayweather fight is expected to shatter the record number of pay per views for a boxing match, which is currently held by Tyson/Holyfield.
And it wouldn't hurt to throw a little cash on Mayweather either

Especially the heavyweight division. Tyson, Briggs, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, etc.... all the good guys are gone. Now you have "the fighting Banker", Chris Byrd, and Russians. HOWEVER, in July, Lamon Brewster is fighting Witali Klitschko for his title. When there were 4 seperate champs in all the divisions (Lamon Brewster, Klitschko, Byrd, and Ruiz), I thought that Brewster was the best fighter of all 4. I think this fight will be awesome. I only hope Brewster can KO him. He's got great punching power. 33 wins and 29KO's.
Middleweight, Junior Middleweight, and welterweight is where all the action is these days. You got Spinks, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Kessler, Mosley............ There's some good fightin there!
