I'm looking forward to it tonight. I will be watching it. I think a lot of it's hype, but it will be good to see the Golden Boy come out of retirement.
In the past, De LaHoya has had his share of trouble with faster fighters, ala Felix Sturm and bernard Hopkins. Mayorga brings a good fight, and has also had his fair share of problems. He's had 2 defeats in his last 4 fights by Spinks and Trinidad, who are much better schooled fighters than Oscar. I see Oscar's ring rust playing a huge part in this fight. I also see Mayorga's cokyness being a small problem. His cigarette smoking, beer drinking ring antics are getting old, and he should be more focused on a tuff fight. I'm very undecided tonight. I am weighing about 70% in Mayorga's favor by KO. Again, ring rust and age being Oscar's biggest downfall. However, back in the day, Oscar was a much better skilled fighter than mayorga ever was. If we see the Oscar of old (doubtful), we can see Mayorga getting KO'd. But for now, I see Mayorga winning by KO in the latter rounds.
