        Re: what bike to get

well im close to my decision, im gonna get a used 03, and it will be either the R6 or 600RR. I was looking at the 03 shoot out and the R6 took it but the CBR 600Rr was in a close second. Im leaning toward the 600RR because the pipe is under the seat. But if i can pick up a R6 black with the red flame kit i might take it. Ill know in a week or so.

Yamaha's are Junk bad tranny's and I've know a few guys breaking foot pegs coming off stand ups and their not big guys either the only draw back to the 600rr is it's a pig compared to the other 600's but IMO it comes in second to the Gixxer 600

              Re: what bike to get

Really all the supersports (600s) are pretty much neck and neck. The season is about to begin. The CBR 600RR races in Formula Extreme. I believe that race is March 12th. Catch it. I'm predicting the CBRs will do them just like they have the past 2 years since they came out. Whatever happens at Daytona on the 12th should paint the picture for the season for the Formula X class. The R6 is a light nimble bike. It's in the SS division. Yamaha knows better than to try it against the CBRs in FX. That's strange somebody mentioned something about their trannys. A freind of mine bought a R6 and his tranny headed south about 6 months after he bought it which is a very bad thing because those cassette style trannys are bullett proof so something is wrong. But Hacking won the 2003 SS championship on an R6. And they played hell beating him out of it last year, so the R6 is something to be reckoned with in the SS division. Shit, Roger Lee Hayden took it on a ZX6 last season, and if you ask me Kawasaki is garbage. Just research how fast they depriciate in value. That should tell you something. I've had every make dirt bike growing up, so that's where I base my opinion on performance and durability. I'm hard on a bike and the Hondas have always been there when I need it. And they put out years later the same as they do the day you ride it off the showroom. I think one of the main reasons people buy into the other makes is because Hondas have a little higher sticker price than the other makes. Think about it. There's a reason. If you by an R1 or ZX-10, you better immediately invest in a good stabalizer ($600+) to take that squirrellyness out that's not very comforting when you're "ridein". And obviously that doesn't solve the problems. And the Unit Pro-Link will never even come close to duplicated. Next subject. The AMA field is mostly Suzuki. People think that that's because GSXRs must be the top dog. The reason there are so many GSXRs in the line up is because Suzuki has the best contengiency program, period. And yes, they do perform.

Anyway. I get long winded when we start talkin bikes. I love 'em all. They all are top notch finely tuned machines. I'm just partial to Honda. The AMA season is kickin off. Tune in to it and read Sport Rider. Alot of valuable info in it. Don't be a squid. Where a good helmet, gloves, armored jacket and boots, and ride it like it was made to be ridden. Go to your local track. There's nothing like a controled track environment. Your rideing ability will accelerate fast. Learn from guys that are faster than you. Technique is everything. Brake late. Accelerate hard. Try to get to the better contact patch of your tires as fast as possible in turns.
