Okay i'm buying a dirtbike soon. I've had two in my life, A Yamaha YZ80 and a Yamaha YZ125.

I am going to get another 125, I have my mind set on another Yamaha, because thats really all i've experienced.

Can anyone recommend a honda, suzuki, or kawasaki? Which brand should I buy?

    Ummm.. you lost me

You've got your mind set on a Yamaha yet your asking us to reccomend other brands?

Well, you can't go wrong with honda's CR line.

The Suzuki RM line used to be great.. not sure if it's still in production.

Nothinq wrong with a YZ tho..

Ever thought of stepping up to a 250? Your a bigger bro and should have the muscle to handle the extra weight. Would suck to buy the 125 and then be on the lookout for a 250 by the end of the season.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.

Well my mind is set on the YZ because I don't know much about the others, I was hoping maybe someone could point out some pros and cons to possibly make me change my mind.

Yes I thought about the 250, that is another good point.... I think I will be satisfied with a 125 with less chace of injuring myself. I'm pretty daring when it comes to these things.

Try going to www.off-road.com They might be able to help you out more than a buncha juicers.

        But to recap..

Look into the CR's and RM's.

You might also want to look into buying a 4-stroke instead of a 2. They have a little smother power delivery and they are becoming very popular on the motocross series. They have the same type of frames on them. I would personally go with Yamaha or Honda.

the only advice i can give is on a 2stroke.. i raced amatures southern ultra series on both a cr250 and later on a yz 250... ive rode kawis but personally wouldnt recommend them, handle well, but somewhat gutless- at least compared to the cr250... the yz on the other hand was an increadible bike. staight off the show room floor it will make you look like a pro... handles well in difficult sand, great power, and acts like a feather when launched into the air... recommend the yz...
never rode a rm but have heard good things about them

Get a 2-stroke! Easier to work on, even though the new thumpers are awesome!

                      I ride a CR250, and I don't think there's a better bike on the market! I love the aluminum frame of the 99'-up cr250!
