This fight happened many many years ago. I just got through writing him about the Ali fight. I watched it and was appalled at the way Holmes punished Ali. He easily had the fight won, no need to punish Ali like he did.

I kind of remember. I remember people blamed that fight for giving Ali brain damage. Ali was having symptoms of parkinsons a while after that fight but didnt know it was parkinsons and everyone was blaming that fight for giving Ali brain damage. Larry Holmes was never a likeable guy. He acted like an asshole most of the time and had zero charisma

This fight alone did not do it. I saw the fight, I was very angry. He had the fight won easily so why punish him.

Larry was put in a no win situation. If he won he beat an old man, if he lost, he was a phony. Ali needed the money. Several times in the fight you see Larry looking at the ref wanting him to stop. Don king stripped him of all his money. Plus that “I got more left in me “ mentality gets all boxers it seems
