When you are in the "Save as" window.

Just below where you can type in the file name should be a box that says something like "File types" and has a drop down list. Change it from .bmp to .jpg and try again.

Follow my instructions. I just checked and the box is labled "Save as type" In XP anyway, I belive it's very similar for Win2k and ME.

What OS are you using? You can't even chose between say a 8bit and a 16bit .bmp?

You guys have any other graphics programs?

MS office comes bundled with a Microsoft Photo editor which is simple and works great.
