AWD And mostly(or are all of them) automatics. Betcha they'll eat a converter or two. Especially if you like to drive em hard. Nice vehicle, and a rocket off the line.

Got a 2500 stall in my mustang. Good for some neck-jerking action.

Ya, so much torque my truck likes to eat converters, but also trannys...figured the name went well with the iron game we all love. Got a 3200 stall with a PTE 63 turbo...

all syclones made in 1991, all AWD, all autmatic trannys 700r, all are black and only 2998 total. I like to eat Ford Lightenings...but there nice trucks as well. Not to manny things stand a chance off the line, but top end lacks--what do you expect, its a truck/flying brick...made for 0-60's and 1/4mile.

Thanks for the welcome...hope to contribute to the board.

Hmm.. my memory is doing well today.

What's the truck run in the 1/4? What do they run stock?

Figured you'd eat trannies in a machine like that...especially if GM decided to use the TH700r4. Isn't that tranny just a TH350 with an overdrive?

Guess the AWD would make a TH400 swap out of the question hey?

Here's a pic of my truck. Slightly different purpose than yours

I don't think 700r and t350 are the same at all, but I am not expert on trans. There are a few guys, and a bro in cali. who builds these things (syclones and typhoons) over the 1000hp mark, and he has some how mad the t400 fit with the AWD...don't ask how, but those are some strong ass trannys.

Man, what they run stock is just like all the other BS running around about other cars. Owners bullshit they do this or that...I can tell you this about mine and that is it...I have heard bone stock number from 13.0 to 13.6 for the syclones, slightly higher for the tyhpoons as they are hearvier. Bone stock, I pulled 13.3 with a 0-60 time with a mounted laptop of 4.32. They were advertised as 0-60 in 4.6 in the rain, which to be honest, is compltey possible. However, compated to the Lightening, they can't haul shit, nor tow anything as their susupension is pretty low to the ground. They are easy to mod, and can put one in the 12.7 range assumig you are not an idiot and know what you are doing, for 800 bucks or so. Of course there is no end to what you can do, and that is why there is no point to argue what is faster than what...the guy with the most money wins, hehe.

I just like them cause they are rare and fast. I like to have something that you never see. For example there are only about 40 in my state.

I have some pics, but they are on a different computer...i'll try to get one up!

Awesome truck by the way...you could probably run over mine.

Ah! For some reason I was picturing the typhon in my head (they're SUV looking correct?). Good looking truck.

Turbo vehicles are great. 25% more HP from just simple exhaust and BPU upgrades.

When I blew the TH400 in my truck, I was thinking about swapping in a 4speed auto and did some research into 4speed GM auto's. Basically, unless you want to take a tranny from a 95+ vehicle, you're stuck with the TH700r4. So I was going to do that, but was told that the 700 is basically just a TH350 with an extra gear. Alot of people went so far as to say I would be downgradeing. So I just stuck with the TH400. Got it rebuilt with a fairly agressive shift kit. I do love the 400...and it's got to be damn strong... when it jerks your head back during a shift in a 5000lb vehicle, you know it's got some good clutches!

I totally hear you about the "something different" aspect. That's why I decided to buy a classic mustang instead of a newer one. Sometimes I regret it...EFI would be nice for example... but most of the time I'm loving it. Lately I've been on a restomod kick. Trying to get modern conforts in a classic vehicle. So far I've added: power doorlocks with keyless entry, power trunk opener (tied into keyless remote), power windows, CD player, etc. Found all the HP mods were costing me alot of grief and money...

                        Here's my other baby..
