Working out hard 6 days/week. 3 on weights alternating w 3 on hiit cardio w abs work. Eating clean. Depressing how little weight is coming off and how slow gains are coming. Progress at 45 is a far cry from 35.....gotta do something different as this aging shit sucks....looking for ideas

yes if you truly have low trt and correct it, then it can make a difference IMO.

get your thyroid checked and if possible your adrenal hormones. Actually for adrenal hormones I prefer 24 hour saliva test.

We need a lot more info. Diet, etc. until that is in line, trt won't do anything.

overtraining can cause one to stall out in weight loss. also diet. if you are doing low fat high protein and carb or high protein low fat low carb you might not respond well to that. shake it up. once your body becomes acclimated to the training and diet weight loss will stall.

try dropping the weights fro a couple weeks and just do cardio. then when you go back hit the weights hard. also try a keto diet for a month. i lost 15# in a month and I was already lean. 1/2 was water but I can tell the rest was fat.

I also wanted to add the following. Morning body temp. is a good reflector of overall metabolic rate. Get a high quality thermometer. Lay it by your bed. As soon as you wake up pop it in your mouth or wherever. If your temp. in the morning is below 97.8 it typically indicates a slower metabolism and possible hypothyroid. I learned this from Dan Duchaine in his book BodyOpus.

^^Agreed! Stats, a little more detailed training routine, and diet would help out alot.

The older you get the more you have to be disciplined as hell. Cheat meals can turn you into a fat slug with a double chin in a matter of weeks. I believe it can be done. I know guys in the 60s who are pounding it.

I wouldnt want to go very long without taking test. The longest I go off it is maybe 2 months.

Let me rephrase that, the older you get, the faster cheat meals show up as lard. You can look like shit in a day or two of bad eating. Young guys can get away with eating shit.
