How the hell is FL #50? Great place to vacation and the Keys are awesome. Great for retirees and the best amusement parks in the world are there in Orlando. Pius sports teams are pretty damn good at pro and college level. Where would you like to live Alaska, North Dakota or Florida? They should do a pole, where would you like to live if money was not the deciding issue, more fair.Comment

i think they just randomly picked the ranking then wrote stuff about each state because Texas would have to be first. it's an undisputable fact.
Michigan? depressed economy (due to the cesspool of crime and filth detroit) and it is really cold in the winter.

Nevada at 41 is lame imo. It's not so much the position though as it is the reason they gave. It is my favorite state, with Colorado in second. Why so many often judge NV as if everyone gambles or parties is not fair. It's actually one of the best places to run a business due to low taxes and business friendly laws. As for working here, there are no state income taxes, plus no tax on food. The cost of living is reasonable, and even housing is somewhat affordable after the bubble burst in 2009.
