ok, back in 1996 when I was 17 I got a careless driving ticket, and 90 hours community service. This was to be performed in 4 hr increments only on saturdays. I just get a letter in the mail today saying I owe 12 hours, and I should report immediately or face consequences.



WTF, there has to be some kind of time limit. I am positive I had completed all 90 hours, i mean it was about 8 yrs ago. I would think in order for them to win their case they would need to have all records of EVERY saturday communitry service performed from 1996 to present.



anyone with some insight, would be appreciated. I am going to fight this, no way am I doing this bull shit.

and how the fuck did you get 90 hours of community service for a careless driving...i dont believe that b/c carelesss driving is a traffic offense, not a criminal one where they would punish you like that...whats the rest of the story?

thats it man, it was the first day i had my license. I was doing doughnuts in this dirt field, and got busted. I mean it was friggin dirt, i even offered to rake the shit to smooth it out.

Im guessing they wanted to teach the new driver a lesson. But really thats it man. NO other secrets. I am almost 24 now man, Im not doing this community service. Especially when I know I did it all. I have other things I have to do on saturday mornings.

Call the number on the notice and find out what you have to do. It's better to know now instead of "face the consequences" of ingoring the notice later and having a potential warrant issued.

I know exactly what I would have to do for my community service, and It lists the possible consequences.

I will have to go to 3 saturdays of sitting at a recycling place for 4 hours, either cleaning bathrooms, or signing in cars and helping them dump plastic bottles and glass and shit. Its the worst man..

and i did my 90 hrs, i really dont think they would want to bring it up in court, how stupid would they look if they let me slide for 7-8 yrs, plus they would have to have records of every saturday from then...i really doubt they have that shit.

IF they did it wouldnt have taken them this long to try and say i have 12 hours left........im tired of "its the law so they are right"..not with me man..I will fight for shit if i know im right, and here i am right...so whatever.

I just go to the DA, ok man i did my 90 hours, you think I wouldnt have done them in 8 yrs, if so then have them bring in all 8 yrs of documentation. I think not
