Addicted to Afrin nasal spray. Not that i fiend for it and can't wait to get a hit or anything, it just seems like my nose is always stuffed up and Afrin works so i use it. I've heard it can do damage to your sinuses over time so I'd like to find a way to get off the stuff, plus it's expensive. Anybody else stuck on this stuff or overcome their reliance on it?

I'm an Addict
Respectfully,
9mm
Eventually, if there isn't deep integrity and fundamental character strength, the challenges of life will cause true motives to surface and human relationship failure will replace short-term success.
There is an idea of who I am: some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me; only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel my flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.Tags: None

that's what i'm afraid of, i've used this stuff called sinus buster which is capsaicin based and burns like hell. it just wasn't effective, supposedly overtime it's effectiveness increases as you get the effects of Afrin out of your system but that stuff is rough. i've considered going to an allergy clinic but don't know that i'd have time to do weekly injections. might have to reevaluate that though because i've heard good things about those clinics.Respectfully,

Ive been hooked on it. Just come off and suck it up until the rebound congestion goes away. try pseudofed first couple of nights when its real bad. I've also heard but not confirmed that there are traces of mercury or some other toxin in it which can have side effects over time. Thats just second hand info I've heard though..

yeah that's what sucks, it's very effective, then you can't live without it. i use it on average 3 to 4 times a day. couldn't sleep thru the night without a couple hits before bed. sucks!Respectfully,

Re: I'm an Addict
man, good question. I tried nasacort once it was released, got two bottles and felt that it wasn't as effective as afrin. maybe i didn't give it enough time. if she's only using it once a day I'd say she's okay. I'm using afrin 3-4, sometimes 4-5 times a day just out of necessity. if she's okay with a single dose I'm jealous!Respectfully,
