Waiting for Transplant

We are sad to report that untimely passing of bodybuilder Derek Anthony.
Derek passed away this evening at the young age of 32 while awaiting a transplant. Derek was part of Team MD in the early years and was a vital part of the growing online community.
His Facebook Page was immediately flooded with condolences and pictures from fans, including this one from Team MD's online editor, Adina Zanolli.
"You either loved him, or loved to hate him. He didn't care which side you were on - he liked you either way. He didn't seek approval from anyone and was always doing his own thing! He will be deeply missed by the bodybuilding community," wrote Adina.

Anyone have any opinions on this? Just curious...seems on other boards this is getting a lot of divided discussion. I don't have an opinion on it FYI just asking.

I had to google him to even see who he was and I still never heard of him. what organ was he waiting on?

read his kidneys were shot and he had a tumor on his liver if im not mistaken. sounds like he was in bad shape. RIP

from what I heard and this could be bull shit that it's almost impossible to get a transplant when there is signs of abuse of drugs or smoking or alcohol abuse. to most doctor's steroid use outside of a doctor's permission is abuse.
