deffinetly was flying also the reason people are talkng about paul walker and not the driver isbecuase no one knows who the driver is. Paul walker is famous and has impacted peoples live. I was young when fast and furious came out he was my idle for years and those movies really sparked my love and passion for cars. when someone impacts your life like that you feel a connection to them. its the same thing as would you care more about your friend dying or someone you never met up the street? they are both sad but as for your feelings your friend means more and is more important. He was a good actor and a good person in general who was always involved in charities and the community so he wasnt some peive of shit famous person but you all have valid pionts ESPECIALLY about the troops. if anyone deserves constant media attention its the people who fight and die to keep us free.

the driver was roger rodas...ceo of the powersports customization shop that was part of the charity event...previous rumors suggested the driver was a navy seal friend of walker's...either way i really had to search to find the driver name...

Well its always tragic when someone looses their life. Being a star actor or not. It just so happens they get more publicity about it. Whatever the case he was a human being. I will miss he's movies tho. Fast and Furious remain one of my faves so far. At least when he passed away he was doing something good and was doing charity .

a greater tragedy is the 4 people who died in NYC in a train derailment...there lives will get no recognition because they're not famous...almost like they never existed

i was just really offended how quickly it blew up like it was more important (celebrity death) than anything else going on worldwide that's much more tragic (typhoons, tornadoes, murders, etc)...the general population has skewed priorities and maybe social media and tv is partly to blame for it?

I'm glad you managed a rating system for tragedies.

i can honestly say that social media and tv media has changed my ability to be more compassionate...the right thing for me to do is sign off all networks and boards and go away for a while

I don't watch the news and sometimes I don't read the news just because I don't feel like it. You could have posted those 4 tragedies and the tragedy in the Philippines . I would show my my sympathy there as well. Regardless like I said " Loosing a life is a tragedy and a sadness as it is, just because they are star doesn't give them more importance OR less importance. The fact still remains that they lost their life "

Everyone has to remember that news and all other media is a "Business" And any business survives by generating revenue and for news channels to survive they have to sell as space which means they have to go for the sensationalized stories and the shit people want to read. And the sad state of the us is that as long as people buy those tabloids and run to tmz for stories those are the things that will get press. I'm not saying it's right but at the end of the day we dictate what is out there with every dollar we spend. If we didn't support it then those outlets would have no choice but to change gears and so called news channels are subject to the same supply and demand rules as everything else.
