Re: learn how to do a wheely
only time my front wheel comes off the ground is on 100% acceleration if i dont get forward on the bike. but i have never done a wheelie on the street on purpose.
seen too many vids of guys hitting concrete and i am sure that would hurt.
now a dirt bike...........wheelie all day!

Re: learn how to do a wheely
To make it easier you can do a short throttle mod. If you already have a Dremel you can go to Lowe's and buy a 40 gauge PVC fitting. Cut it the width of the throttle and put it back together. It should shorten the turn close to 72 degrees from 90 degrees. This will increase your acceleration in the fact that you won't have to turn your wrist as much.
I had a 2010 zx10r and that bike was a beast. Doing this mod made it easier to lift the front end, although throttle control through the wheelie is a must.

Re: learn how to do a wheely
Changing bearing makes it easier to wheelie. I would always go up 4 teeth on the rear sprocket. 100mph wheelies for miles.

Re: learn how to do a wheely
i have a bigger forged aluminum back sprocket for mine. i have not put it on as it's an ass whipping to change. it is much easier to go with a smaller sprocket in front.Originally posted by rmewrench View PostGearing.... not bearing..

LOL i was a mechanic back when cars had carbs. it's not super hard to change the rear just time consuming. going down a tooth in front is same as up 3 teeth in front about. a buddy went down 1 in front and up 4 in back. his 1st gear is like a tractorOriginally posted by rmewrench View PostRear sprocket change is no big deal at all.. but then again..
