  • Trading in my Gixxer 750 for a 2014 BWM 1000 RR

    Hey guys,

I started with the gixxer 600 last year, she had 3000 kilometers on her, I trade her at the end of last year with 18000 hahah I rode 15k last summer.

I then got a new gixxer 750, which I have ridden for 7400 this summer, not much, work has been very busy, plus my girlfriend.

So I am shopping for a 1000 now, which I will keep for the long run.
I am hot for the BMW 1000 RR, I went to the shop 3 times this week, to speak to the sales guy.

This bike is insane, apperantly it is hand assembled WOW

Has anybody here ever owned or owns a BMW superbike?

The 750 is THE bike to have, but for me the 1000 is strictly an ego thing...as any sport bike is.

I sat on that bike 3 times.///each time I made a mess in my pants. COmes in white, blue (which are my colors) but also red.

Whats going on with your project? I recall you saying last year that you wanted a bike real badly.

Looks like a really nice bike.. Price tag is what would deter me. Unless I was racing full time I probably wouldn't spend the extra money on the BMW. You can get a gsxr1000 and safe a ton of money and have all the fun... Either way the BMW looks sweet.... high end that's for sure...

                Yes bro you're correct.
i absolutely love the gixxer look way too much!!

bit what got me looking is that te gixxer is 15k. And the BMW 1000rr is 17k see the money for te value is not that much different.
the BMW white, blue, red colors are sick also.

yes want to see pics. on the track with equal riders the BMW beats the suzuki every time. also the semi exotic factor. you see gixxers everywhere but how often do you see a 1000RR. also seems squid seem to prefer GSXRs LOL

Re: Trading in my Gixxer 750 for a 2014 BWM 1000 RR

                        sorry bro, what is "squid"

I never thought about owing a BMW, I always thought those were amazing NO doubt, but a 1000RR non the less.
Like I said what is attracting me to it, is the price point for sure.

And the dealership is willing to give me 8000.00 for my 750 gixxer, she has 7500 kilometers. I bought her for 11,200.00 SO NOT a bad trade in at ALL!!!

The problem right now is that I talked to my insurance and they said that if I trade now, I will be charged 1600.00 yearly, which is DOUBLE what I pay on the gixxer NOW.
So the girl adviced me to wait until this year ends and trace in NEXT year. There is only 1.5 month of riding at best, winter is here.

SO I am going to park my baby next week for the winter, and trade in next year.

I will post pics from the BMW 1000RR I took at the shop, you guys will get a hard on ahhahahhaha

oh man, that is expensive. my insurance is $350 a year. but then that is a high dollar bike and much faster

                          Squid
A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible. This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in 'extreem riding'--performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from 'squirly kid'

LMFAO I NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD!!!

I would hardly call myself a "squid" LMFAO I can take corners pretty good hahahhahah damn now I am boasting about my riding skills...I better stop or else I will really deserve the nickname.

You guys don't pay insurance lik we do in Canada, we are very expensive, even with excellent driving record.
I will say I am really happy to pay only 960.00 Per year on the 750. But I won't jump into the 1000 when winter is around the corner, and pay 1600.00 for a bike that's parked.
We pay for the full year, NOT just riding season. Riding season at best is 6 months IF that.
