Open floor plan, variety in machines, even different brands of the same machine. If music is to be played, play it only as background noise. Mirrors where they need to be, and more then 1 water fountain.

Re: What do you look for in a gym?
I look for a hole in the wall where the weights have taken a beating and the squat racks look used. Nothing wrong with being organized or even clean but if it doesn't feel like a dungeon it's not for me. AC...what is that. PG music...**** off. Not afraid to ask for a spotter and spotters come over to help before you even ask. They just know. The walls have gym records of weight classes in PL and you look at it daily and aspire to be on the board. That marks your location, its your address. I don't have a gym membership, I have a second mortgage. This is my home away from home.
