  • Lasik Eye Surgery question

Anyone have this done? I did it in 1997 and it was a great investment. Almost 16 years ago. I can still read small print from far away. The only thing is that when I am driving at night, all lights have big sunburst type halos around them. I dont mind that, but am wondering how good my night vision for driving is.
Am wondering, does a person who's had Lasik ever get to where they might need to have glasses for driving at night? Should I go for an eye exam at an optometrist?
    Thanks.

I would think that Lasik is not a cure all for everything, esppecially since you had it 16 years ago. Def go see and eye doctor

i had it done in 2000. i did a crap ton of research. the halos around lights at night can be a symptom of a smaller diopter laser. many of the early lasers were smaller.

go to the doc. and get a check up. i still see 20/20 and am very happy with my lasik i only see a bit of a halo is when my eyes are dry so i carry drops.

      have you tried lubricating drops?

Best $3700 I spent ever! At night I saw halo's from on coming lights. Contacts, glasses, all the same. I was roofing at the time and it was summer when Lasik came out with their promotion of no interest on payments if paid in full for a year. I was making good money so I pulled the trigger. Went in, answered all their questions, and set an appointment. The whole surgery part I swear took 15-20 minutes tops! Best thing was being able to see my alarm clock clear as day at 4:30am the next morning! I was so happy! Driving at night is so much easier since, and I am much more confident about it. I had it done back in 2007, and I'm still going good.

The only thing I messed up on was not getting a yearly eye exam to if I happened to need any adjustments ever it would be free.
