President Obama, in a soaring commencement address on work, sacrifice and opportunity, told graduates of Morehouse College Sunday to seize the power of their example as black men graduating from college and use it to improve people's lives.

Re: Obama exhorts good deeds by Morehouse graduates
Love this part, it's what I tell my undergraduate students that I advise, they are not competing against themselves, they are competing against hungrier, smart students from these other countries who know what they know and can speak 3 langurages minimum.....
I understand there's a common fraternity creed here at Morehouse: excuses are tools of the incompetent, used to build bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothingness," he said. "Well, we've got no time for excuses - not because the bitter legacies of slavery and segregation have vanished entirely; they haven't.
"Not because racism and discrimination no longer exist; we know those are still out there," he added. "It's just that in today's hyper-connected, hyper-competitive world, with millions of young people from China and India and Brazil, many of whom started with a whole lot less than all of you did, all of them entering the global workforce alongside you, nobody is going to give you anything that you haven't earned."
"And moreover," the president said, "you have to remember that whatever you've gone through pales in comparison to the hardships previous generations endured -- and they overcame, and if they overcame them, you can overcome them too.
Re: Obama exhorts good deeds by Morehouse graduates
I'm not sure if it's fair to say that EVERYONE from previous generations or other countries experienced more adversity than everyone in any case at this moment here in this country; however, he does have a point. People are HUNGRY in every connotation of the word, and young adults REFUSE to sacrifice and work harder for there desires. It's a real shame to witness the fantasy world of entitlement that people live in.
I'd go to planet fitness, but I'd hate to set off the Lunk Alarm.
