What do you like / dislike about bodybuilding boards?
Likes:
'Reps' and 'Likes' - this is like the 'peoples choice' awards. It is qiven to you by your peers and, to me, more than anything else, reflects your true value and worth to a board as for as a being a contributor is concerned.
Shout Boxes - this is a given. This feature, more than any other, establishes the camaraderie between members.
The ability to edit a post - this is a nice feature to have if you are someone like me and was born without that normal filter mechanism that goes between the brain and the finger tips.
Good selection of board ranks - I like this feature, however it is used (given by merit or post count) because rank really means something to board members. No only does it gives them motivation to participate but it also endears them more to the board because of the sense of appreciate that comes along with an elevation in rank. And yeah, I will be the 1st to admit that it is also something that can be abused by a board as well and, in turn, causes hard feelings among members. Still, I think its benefits outweigh the liabilities. Being stuck at the same rank forever gets old and doldrum after awhile. Especially when there are so many other people who have the same rank as you and do not contribute nearly as much.
Fun stuff - games are cool. chemicalsoldier use to have a good casino that was a lot of fun and took up a lot of shout box band width. your casino cash was awarded on a per post basis which also gave everyone more motivation to post, escpecially if you were a chronic loser like me.
Thread Tracking - nice feature to have
VIP Forums - always nice to have.
Dislikes:
'Rank' or 'Status' Problems - all the pissing, moaning, back biting and internal politics associated with rank assignments.
Shout Box Drama - i'd just as soon close the browser and move on when this happens.
Automatic Post Censors - yeah, this grates my nervers sometimes. if i wrote it, it means i wanted you to read it. We are all adults here. (gonna hear it from someone about this opinion, i'm sure)
Ban Camp - this is just a personal thing with me because I am probably always one post away from being there.
Anyway, thats my list.
