Re: Even Moderate Drinking Linked to Increased Cancer Risk

This is why I don't believe anything these idiot tests show...first a glass of wine a day is good...now the cancer risk far outweighs any health benefits? what a bunch of crap

That's the problem of media reporting scientific studies. 1 study shows some kind of correlation and everyone jumps on it. Research scientists are way more skeptical of 1 study, or even 5 studies, and then you have sample size and type of study done. A good scientist knows that it takes many studies done in different ways w different types of statistical analysis before making conclusions about something.

The problem is that the media and general public are not capable of reading most research studies, but they do it anyways and then when it contradicts a previous study or their preconceived notions they start to have mistrust in science. The truth is that this is how science works and why were at the place we are in terms of scientific discoveries. Science is the continual confirmation or contradiction of previous scientific inquiries, and sometimes it takes decades before we are completely clear about something. This is the beauty of science, not a flaw.
