I HAVE A BIG DECISION AHEAD OF ME...

ARCHITECTURE IS ALMOST NON EXISTANT WHERE I AM...WORK HAS ALMOST COME TO A COMPLETE HALT AT OUR OFFICE. BUT ITS WEIRD I HAVE A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY THAT DOES DESIGN BUILD THAT HAS ASKED ME TO COME ON WITH THEM. ILL BE IN THE FIELD TO START THEN DOING A COMPLETE 180 AS TO WHAT IM USED TO DOING...IT MAY BE TEMPORARY OR AS LONG AS I WANT IT TO LAST. I HAVE A GREAT RELALTIONSHIP WITH THE COMPANY OWNER. TO GO FROM DRAWING/DESIGNING EVERYTHING TO MAKING SURE ITS DONE RIGHT IN THE FIELD WILL BE A CHANGE. BUT - ITS A PAYCHECK WHEREAS SOME OF MY FRIENDS HAVENT HAD ONE IN A WHILE TRYING TO STAY IN ARCHITECTURE.

BIG DECISIONS TO COME! UNLESS WORK PICKS UP FOR ME!!

I think that would be a great oppurtunity as u can always go back to the design part in the future. and being in the field for awhile could possibly make you better at what you do. As things on paper dont always work out in the field. First hand experience of this could be valueable... not saying you ever drew something up that didnt quite work in the field but for me working in the field i have seen it numerous times..

WELL, I JUST GOT A PHONE CALL RIGHT BEFORE SEEING THIS. THE ONWER OF THE COMPANY CALLED TO SEE IF I HAD THOUGHT IT OVER ANY MORE. HE SAID HE WOULD GIVER ME A COMPANY TRUCK, LAPTOP, AND PAY FOR ALL MY GAS....MAN ITS GETTING HARD TO SAY NO!

I say go for it! Don't you think you could always go back to where you are at now? I have not known anyone who hasn't liked being in the fieid instead of in the office. You have to like to drive though and see how many hours in a day are expected of you beyone a regular 8 hour day

Ypu really have to think about this and weigh the pros and cons. Go with your gut feeling on this! I would get the complete job offer in writing, as well. People can promise you the wotld but getting it is another thing. Also, has the company been in business for a long time?

THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS...AND I ALREADY DO A LOT OF MY SIDE WORK WITH THEM. THE OWNER
AND I GET ALONG VERY WELL AND WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING TOGETHER ON A PROJECT I AM DOING RIGHT NOW IN THE OFFICE.


ALSO, BABY1...THIS IS THE COMPANY I HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR ON THE SIDE AT THE WOMENS PRISON!

02, you got a good head on your shoulders, i just changed jobs and iam glad i did. i got use of computer alot. i say go for it thats how u move up. lifes a chance brother and u should like they want your brains working for them. do it brother, imo only of course.

How bout bene's O2? Are you gonna be loosing like retirement, any vested 401's or pension? I dont know how long you have worked there, but that all counts too. If not then go for it.

i think BowBow hit it right as you can always go back in the office sometime in the future. Personally and not knowing you personal situation, i would do what is best for the family and making sure they have what they need.
