The drilling rigs are mainly on private land. Of course handgun production is up...everyone is trying to buy one before they become illegal. And where is the "death toll ticker" for all of the soldiers dying? When Bush was in office, that's all we heard about.

Pretty much that entire picture is skewed and I'm blaming people? My state of TN has so much more unemployment that it has in the past that they are having trouble getting all of the checks out by the mandated time line. I am well off. Malls are filled regardless. My AT&T 401k is not through the

You are so far off. Do you believe everything the media tells you? 401Ks are through the roof huh? From what, the 2008 recession? You should always consider how they came up with their numbers. Economics is a numbers game within the mainstream economists. They tailor their research to make a party look good or bad. Also, the unemployment numbers that they released are way off, and do not include those who have stopped looking for work. The only thing that is up for sure is welfare and unemployment claims, and of course the national debt. Put aside your bias and do some real research and you will find that this is the worst the economy has ever been since the great depression and when Carter was in office. Though it is better than it was in 2008 - 2009, it is still bad. Also, the QE3 will have it's negative effect by sometime next year. I suspect we will have a major dip in the economy and higher inflation, at least that's what the Austrian School of Economics' economists predict and they have been right on every other major recession. Inflation has been up ever since the bailouts and quantitative easing started, however the government fudges those numbers too. Take a look at the price of groceries and fuel and you can begin to get an idea of how bad it is. If people would stop caring about a particular political party and actually research the regulations that are being passed, the votes their elected representatives are casting, the spending that is going on and what it is being spent on, then maybe they would see that both parties are guilty of hurting the economy and stripping away our liberties. But even if someone wants to support one of the two parties full of crooks, at least they should be honest with themselves and admit that things are bad.
