  • Significant elbow pain is messin with me

    Inside my left elbow. Burning pain. 2 months. Have stretched the hell out of my wrist and elbow flexors and currently seems like stretching triceps is really hitting the spot.But its not getting better.
    .Ive been loading up on natural antiinflammatories. I dont like ibuprofen but might have to try a 3 day trial with 800mg 3 timesa day.
    I am going to do an ice bath followed by hot water and see if that helps. Will also hook an interferrential current machine to it.
    If I could find a good ART practitioner nearby I would do that but there isnt one. Wonder how acupuncture would do for it.
    Anybody else have any experience with things that work?

    Find a Chinese market or acupuncture place and pick up some Kwan Loong oil. Stinks to high heaven but saves my elbows after years of lifting. Also maybe invest in some neoprene elbow sleeves. Put the oil on 2-3 times a day and right before lifting and then the sleeves.

      Burning usually means nerve pain. You could have a compressed nerve. I have one in tricep.foreare and hand. The neuroligist called it a "double crush" injury. An EMG revealed this but t also revealed a pinched nerve in my neck which is the primamry spot but vreats the other nerve compression all the wa down the are. He recommended a cervical injection and said it would then heal the other compressed nerves. You should probably see a neurologist and have an EMG. Also have the same thing going on down my left laeg. It does suck and I a sorry this is happening to you. Do you still take the tumeric? Make sure you are getting adequate magnesium also, or maybe bump it up. I take 500 mg a day. B12 is important too. Have you used Biofreeze vefore? It does help the pain

        YES! not all the time but when lifting hard i tweak it. did this just recently and needed to lay off some excersises until the pain's gone down. i do however suck on some advil at least three times a day when this happens. definitley help however only masks the injury

          Sounds like you have medial epicondilitis or "Golphers Elbow" and no you dont have to play golf to get this.LOL

          Ice pacs and heat are the first recommended treatments and of course rest.Take a break form trianing for a few days or a week,at least from using that arm directly.Try the ibuprofen as you thought and see if that helps.

          If all else fails then a coritsone shot may be just what the doc ordered.If this doesnt work after a couple of injections then surgery may be your only option bro.

              I forgot about this too.Theres a rotation excercise that I learned yrs ago for elbow pain that worked for me and may work for you as well.Its a little hard to describe but i'll try.You use a very light dumbbell and hold it in you hand with your palm facing your thigh as if you were going to do curls.Start by twisting your palm outward as you lift it and slowly curl the weight up in a circular motion across your body.So say you are using your left arm,you start with your palm facing your left thigh and start to curl it up as you twist your palm away from your thigh and then cross the dumbbell towards your right side passing in front of your belly.Sort of like a windmill if you will.Think of how your arm moves during arm wrestling but doing a complete circle with a dumbbell.

              Do this with very light wt and higher reps and increase the weight over time as it gets easier.This has really helped me in the past as well as others I have given this to.I have a mechanic buddy of mine that had bad elbow pain on the inside if his arm and this worked great for him.It builds the muscle supporting them elbow and forearm while stretching them as well.

              Give it a shot if you haven't tried this yet brother.Make sure you continue to ice it up an use heat packs as well after you do these lifts.

                LMFAO.Could definitely happen to a rookie! You really have to work on your technique to prevent this.
