Re: Are you afraid to cry?

My dog and companion was a very good friend for 15 years. When I lost him I cried like a baby

Re: Are you afraid to cry?

I know personally, that when I cry, it releases my stress level immensely. Hey, this is better than throwing, punching, or even worse, right? As women, we do not have to deal as much with the negative social stigma of crying that society has put onto men, but I hope this will fade in time. Because men release their stress levels often in more outwardly aggressive ways, if the social stigma were not pasted onto men about crying, do you think there would be more peace in our world? Maybe. Maybe not.

Is crying is a sign of weakness? I think it is more a sign of strength, courage and even wisdom as I know that my stress level will decrease after those tears are out. And finding ways to release our stress is one of the best things that we can do for ourselves and our overall mental/emotional/physical health. I rarely hear of someone saying they feel more stressed or upset after crying. Unless, they are referring to the bags under their eyes afterwards.

I'm afraid of others seeing me cry. They might take advantage of me in my weakened state. Plus, the only really cool way to cry is to have a lone tear creep out from under your mirrored sunglasses and slowly trace your stoic demeanor with its fall.

That's hard to pull off at night, see, only famous people wear sunglasses at night because of the camera flashes.

Re: Are you afraid to cry?

Honestly, I never cried. It was how I was raised. I've never seen my dad cry either, not even when his own mom passed away. I'm 29 and still haven't seen it happen ha ha.

But now I cry, well tear up, watching Disney movies I've watched many times before when I was younger with my kids. I laugh at myself thinking WTH is wrong with me, then I look around me and see a Family I love very much and it doesn't bother me at all...

Idk if you would say that im afraid to cry, I think I just don't think I get sad easy. The last time I cried was at my grandpas funeral and before that it probably was a few years. It really has to be something big to make me cry

Touching story Daved..That makes me cry. I cry alot because I am sensitive i guess. I dont think men should hold back. I dont care what ppl say. A man that can cry and show his emotions is a strong man.
