One of the best exercises for our brain!

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning (reading comprehension). It is a means of language acquisition, of communication, and of sharing information and ideas. Like all language, it is a complex interaction between the text and the reader which is shaped by the reader’s prior knowledge, experiences, attitude, and language community which is culturally and socially situated. The reading process requires continuous practice, development, and refinement.

Readers use a variety of reading strategies to assist with decoding (to translate symbols into sounds or visual representations of speech) and comprehension. Readers may use morpheme, semantics, syntax and context clues to identify the meaning of unknown words. Readers integrate the words they have read into their existing framework of knowledge or schema (schemata theory).

I think it does, actually. It has to. LOL....I used to read a lot of books, but now I can onloy read a few pages at a time. My attention span goes elsehwere. I am going to try to use some self discipline in this area and force myself to read from a book for just 15 minutes straight. I think I will work on atlas shrugged since I started it a year ago LOL

I was watching a show on PBS Frontline, called Digital World. They had college students on there that have never read a book in their life. LOL...Imagine that.

                      Re: Reading

I read a lot. Typically 2-3 books at a time, a hard book, a kindle book, and an audio book.

I do not condone the use of, nor do I use anabolic or androgenic steroids. My participation on these boards is for informational purposes only. I have done extensive research of AAS and enjoy discussing them for role playing enjoyment.

I wouldn't say that but I appreciate it nonetheless. I consider myself knowledgeable on things that interest me, but I only gain that knowledge from reading everything on the subjects I enjoy.
