The one we go to is open 24/7 365 days a year. It has a lot of good stuff, pool, rockwall, lots of equipment, tanning, and massage. There is a juice bar but i wish they served some healthy meals there. Cost us $390 a year for a membership. that is the price we paid 9 years ago when it opened so they still honor it.

Re: What is your gym like?
I wish our gym was like that! Mine is okay equipment wise but it's hard to get motivated really. It's mostly a high school social scene when I go and the music is terrible!! There is really no management or organization, IMO. I really think that many of the kids that are working out, are just walking in with no memberships because no one checks. No one clears their bars when they're done because it doesn't get enforced. I had to help a girl just last week because she wanted to do the leg press machine and there were freaking 16 45lb plates left on it!! It's ridiculous! She would have been too worn out to do legs after clearing all that weight. So I took it off for her.
If it wasn't for insurance, I would open a gym in my area for the serious lifters to come to. A gym where the music is loud and motivating and if you don't like it, don't join. I was trying to get pumped for squats the other day and they were playing REO speedwagon!!! If you don't clean your mess up, you're gone. A gym where you can deadlift with chalk and drop the weight and no one in there looks at you like you committed a crime. A gym with fewer mirrors so you don't have to walk around people that are flirting with their own image. A gym where the squat is used for squats and not curls or shoulder presses. I could go on and on.
But really, it's just a commercial gym. I guess I can't expect much more than that. It's 5 minutes from the house so I don't complain too much."He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves
"I'm telling you, once your car's been stolen, it never runs the same again. It's like a guy sleeping with your girl. He leaves his mark all over her."- Drama (Entourage)

Re: What is your gym like?
Right now, my entire gym is outside. It has an old rusty pullup and dip bar setup. I have a set of cast iron dumbbells, I have 3 barbells, the weights are old and rusted. I got a heavy bag and several Plyometric stations for jumping up and down. Sometimes I go to the regular gym, but I prefer to workout outside during the summer. You would be surprised at what a great workout you can get with the most simple and basic equipment. Its all in your mind

Re: What is your gym like?
Family fitness place, very neat and clean. Lots of free weights and machines, pool, saunas, rock wall, tons of cardio equipment juice bar, tanning and such. GREAT daycare, even take infants. My daughter is 6 months old and she loves it there and they love her. Lots of older people circuit training, hard to find a spot. Only drawback, no Hammer Strength stuff which sucks. So after Gold's closed, added a membership to 24 Hour just to use the Hammer stuff once a week or so. Pay $58 a month at the family fitness place for the wife and me and $19 a month at 24 for just me.

Re: What is your gym like?
Working out in my back yard in the sun reminds me of muscle beach in Venice. LOL...Today I went out there and the bar was so damn hot from the sun that it was burning my hands. I picked up some steel plates and they were scorching hot LOL I shoulda put on gloves..dayummmm..My hands are a little red so I think I kinda burned them a little...many nights I go out and do pullups and military presses under the stars. Whenever I want to workout, they are there. day or night.
