Re: what size bikes you all have?
yamaha 600.
smart to start small. my first bike was a kawi KE 250. perfect to learn good form on and very forgiving in newbie mistakes. also those little 250s handle great. learining good form in the twisties is much better than being a squid and going slow in the corners and rocketing down straights with big HP.
you take a moto safety course? who cares what people think. enjoy riding and when you are proficient, upgrade. i want a liter bike real bad but i am going to stick with the 6R a few more years. i have found i just dont need all that HP.

Re: what size bikes you all have?
I agree...smart starting on a 250. "Learning" to ride correctly is much smarter than buying a big litre bike and learning how to ride a wheelie and then thinking you are the greatest thing ever. When I had my 600, I had a buddy that bought an R1. He would smoke me in the straight aways but he didn't have a clue when it came to the twisties...which are what the bikes are geared toward. Have fun man!! That's what it's all about. I am getting bike fever again....I feel a new purchase coming in the spring!"He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

Re: what size bikes you all have?
just be safe. i used to take off from a light without looking. since i got back into riding i always look both ways before proceeding through the intersection. good habit to have even in a cager.
enjoy it. and down the road look at the ninja 650 or yamaha fz6r. they are both very forgiving bikes with a more upright, comfortable riding position. they handle great, but they arent HP beasts but they look it.

And stay out of blindspots. I can't count how many times I've seen people try to change lanes with a bike beside it. People just don't pay attention anymore. When I passed cars, I made sure to get around them as fast as possible. Drive defensively my man. Love me some bikes!"He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves
