Re: U.S. Urges Greater Iran Sanctions Implementation

I don't think many people realize how much impact sanctions have on a country. They literally cause people to starve to death, and always lead to war. Thus, you can bet we will be at war with them sooner or later. That will deal a huge blow to our economy. That is too big of a country for us to start nation building in while in seven other countries at the same time. Sometime we are going to have to face our debt crisis and get spending under control.

There were many people who made that argument about Germany before WWII.

You have made my point for me. Economic sanctions led to war. We imposed very high tariffs on Japan and ended up at war with them. And the Treaty of Versailles pretty much led to WW2. My point was that since we put sanctions on Iran it is inevitable that we will be at war with them. Now I realize that many people today are on board with us going to war with every country in the world if that's what those in power say must be done, but I happen to believe that there are more serious problems in the world right now than fighting another war. Our dollar and economy are in trouble and I don't see how invading an 8th country is going to help us one bit. But it doesn't matter what I think or anyone else for that matter, the fact of the matter is we have already imposed the sanctions on them, thus war is inevitable if history proves consistent.
