I got fitted for bleach trays by my dentist. He said wear them at night. So I did, and the next day they were so f**kin sensitive to hot and cold. Now I just get them cleaned every six months. Anyone had em' whitened by laser treatment?
I got some whitening gel and trays from the dentist and they did a great job. I followed it up with some of the Colgate Simply White stuff and I think my teeth are "movie star" white now.
I need to.....I had a shitload of ear infections as a kid that required loads of antibiotics....trouble was, back in the late 70's/early 80's docs didn't know that certain antibios would not only stain your bones, but also your permanent teeth....I should sue
Originally posted by CJWolf these white strips are playing hell on my gums ... they're very sensitive to hot and cold, and especially to brushing ...
The trick is to build up slowly. I tried to get white teeth in one night and wore the trays for two hours. The next morning my gums bled pretty badly when I brushed my teeth! They hurt for about 4 days. I waited a week or so and started again slowly going from 10 minutes and adding 10 more minutes every couple of days untill I would leave them in for a little over an hour.
Teeth dont hurt. Teeth are white. White teeth rule. :p
I smile alot and wear white shirts, now I love to smile in white shirts! hehe
I've been using this whitning kit from walmart $14 one and havent noticed much yet but, I've only used it 3 time, I notice that my tongue is numb the next day too.
The dentist told me to get a mold made by him or the laser treatment done, because the trays (from the store) don't fit your teeth evenly and you can have too much gel in one area and that is what is causing the sensitivity and can also cause spotting. My brother got the trays and he started wearing them a little at a time and gradually worked his way up to overnight. I think if your teeth are sensitive you should go for the laser surgery. If you don't have a problem with sensitivity then use the trays (from the doctor) the over the counter ones eventually work but not as good. And they will eventually cause spotting. That is my 2cents I hope that helps you guys. That is what I was told from my dentist first hand and he knows his Teeth...
