i rode the whole thing. it was my longest ride there and back. I ended up between a tricked out sportster and a full dress bike behind me.
i realize now i am a very conservative rider as the sportster was taking the curves at speeds that i wouldnt think a harley rider would be comfortable at but he seemed real comfortable and appeared to be a good rider. the guy behind fell way back in the curves and caught up on the straights.
traffic was not bad. there was a little mazda 3 in front of us that appeared to be having a wee bit of fun too. we never caught him so he was moving pretty good
i pulled into a gas station at 177 to get a drink the 2 harleys pulled out of the line at the light and we shot the shi* for 20 minutes.
i let them sit on my bike as they were talking about sport bikes being uncomfortable. they both said it was not bad at all but not their cup of tea.
they were on their way back from fort worth so we rode to the end and i waved as i turned around for the ride back. a few bikes going west but didnt ride with anyone
it was hot 100 degrees on the way home. as long as i was moving my mesh jacket breathes pretty good.
when i got home there was a patch of sweat on my shirt the same shape as my armor on the back LOL my Son pointed it out.
also my bike handled great. even on the broken pavement it just took it and i never had any "oh shi*" moments (again i ride conservatively)
i would like to get some upgraded brake lines and pads as it is a complaint about my bike that the brakes are a bit spongy and the lines will fix that and HP pads will eliminate fade and give more grip
i must find some local guys to ride with!
i am still smiling after writing this
