There is a man in his 50's that is in a wheelchair, at the gym. He is always there working out. He manages to get out of his chair onto the floor and he does all kind of exercises. I thought I overheard him say he has MS. When I am having a painful day, it is people like that who really make me think, "if they can do this, so can I'". There is also a young man with Downs Syndrome who is there by himself working out. Kudos to those people who let nothing stop them from maintaining a healthy lifestyle!!!

It's funny and I allways get a chuckle because we have these big ol' windows in the front, so when Im on the eliptical im just kinda looking at them all huddled up smoking cigs while the're looking back. And when the highschool has lunch all these kids are walking by smoking, and then sucking down a Rock Star and wolfing down a bag full of corn dogs and burritos on the way back and making faces at me while im working out. Oh and I forgot all the stay at home cows comming in and out of the supermarket with their shopping carts full of litres of soda and Banquet dinners. F'ing A, it's inspireing as hell and fun at the same time...Weird cause I kinda get off on it like being a wise a$$.Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

Re: People that inspire you at the gym!
Sorry. OK, I guess there aren't any folks who stand out at my gym for inspiration work out wise, but there are mentally handicapped people who work there who always make me smile with their good nature and outgoing, friendly attitudes. So, they inspire me to try and be a better all around human being.Originally posted by baby1 View PostC'mon you guys, this was a serious thread.

I am always greatful for all the help you have given me. I would never push myself like you push me.
Also, have your red thong chickie do the cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc. and maybe then I will have more time to "get in shape".Veritas Vos Liberabit

Re: People that inspire you at the gym!
Thats pretty awesome. Maybe I should do something like that. I mean, we all could find some time. Am sure doing something like what that guy does would be good therapy for me as much as for them. Those folks deserve to experience a healthy and happy life and probably have a much lesser chance than us of ever being shown how. Maybe help them get a place of their own where they can start working out. Get some equipment donated or something. There are things we can do to improve others lives , improving our own in the process.Originally posted by daved150 View Postyea...its cool to see that stuff. we have a guy at our gym that cares for adults with autism and other mental probs. he brings them too the gym and worksout with them...hes a pretty buff dude and they all call him superman, lol...its funny. but to watch these guy workout is pretty inspiring

Re: People that inspire you at the gym!
Oh I was being serious. No one inspires me. They all annoy me. Most id like to honestly pop them in the nose. I want to be left alone. No spots. No chatting. I don't want to keep asking people to move their gear off a bench or machine. Although I guess my friend who owns one of the 3 gyms I go to. He's not a bodybuilder he's older former olympic lifter. Mostly a trainer. Beyond his Psy D in exercise science. I consider him a genious with training methods. This guy anyone he has trained usually wins the meet that they enter. Recently 44 year old guy entered amateur olympic meet here. 1st contest ever. He placed first in masters. The 20 year old kid he trained took his category as well. So I guess his knowledge. Inspires me. He developed his own variation or periodization cycle training. Similiar to the old russian and bulgarian methods that just astound me.Originally posted by baby1 View PostC'mon you guys, this was a serious thread.
