Hopefully next Sat I'll be meeting one of my heroes!
Hopefully next Sat I'll be meeting one of my heroes!
Next Sat the legendary wrestler Road Warrior Animal is doing a book signing out here in the Wastelands of Jersey, and God willing I'll be there with my Legion of Doom shirt on, grinning like a madman! Animal just released his autobiography this year, and it is a real good read for anyone who is a wrestling fan. Animal and his partner Hawk were HUGE in my life for a long time, and when Hawk passed away in 03 it was the end of an era. The Legion of Doom was pretty much the greatest tag team of all time.

Those two and the Blade Runners where my inspiration for wanting to get yoked ! by the way how did Hawk die ?
Yeah, the Blade Runners were cool, too. As ya prolly know, Jim Hellwig went on to become the Ultimate Warrior, and Steve Borden went on to become Sting. Sting is still going strong in TNA wrestling, and Ult. Warrior is retired from wrestling, but is still buff as hell. Here is a passage from Wikipedia about Hawk's death:
Mike Hegstrand [Hawk] died on October 19, 2003 in the early morning in his home in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. He was 46 years old. His friends said that he and his wife Dale had recently bought a condominium near their current home and were packing their boxes the night before. Hegstrand said that he felt tired and went to take a nap. When his wife checked on him at about 1 a.m., he had died of an apparent heart attack. At the time of his death, Hawk and Animal were working on a book about their careers.

Indian Rocks Beach ? the longest pier on the gulf coast (one mile), wow I used to live there. Man that sucks, those guys really were the s#it back then.
Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

Re: Hopefully next Sat I'll be meeting one of my heroes!
What a cool guy! He was very mellow and personable. Guess everyone was expecting him to kick down a wall or something, but he just walked in, waved, and got down to business. He signed my book, my gut belt, and a dollar bill for me, and told me he liked my Legion of Doom shirt. I only have one good camera phone pict of him and I, and a buddy of mine will be putting it on the web for me later. So, once it's up I'll put it here.
DUUUUUDE!!!!! THATS BADASS!!!! im glad you got to meet the guy!! that would have been a blast!!!
Like The Road Warrior's catch phrase went "WHAT A RUSH!" lol I took some picts myself, but I was so giddy I got a case of the shakes and they came out like chit. Thank God one of Animal's people was there to take the one of him and me.
