Just take your time. There were some guys in my class that seemed to be in a hurry to empty their clip and their shots were all over.
Also, in my class, I shot a descent sized hole in the target (obviously by hitting the same spot) this combined with not many stray shots got me an automatic pass because they couldn't count how many hit in that hole. If it's anything like what I took, it's VERY VERY easy if you have ever shot a gun before.
There were a few woman in there that had never even picked up a pistol. That was scary to think they would be walking around with a gun!!

thanks. i am not too worried, going to the range today with my brother. we are going to go through the test a couple of times and i am going to shoot my little .380 and see if i want to sell it and get another

You should do fine, being you're well acquainted with firearms.
idk what your state requirements are, but FL only requires you to fire 1 rnd into a target about 15ft away. Very simple. A 2hr class, that didn't even touch on the most valueable firearm ethics, imo, & 1 10-15ft shot fired.
But, everyone has the right. That piece of plastic is just redundant.
There are classes offered which cover firearm fundamentals very well, but, does that really matter? I feel firearm etiquette should be taught along with other fundamental values. Or truly sought after by those that wish to carry, or even own & possibly operate a firearm.
It's kinda like driving. We reach a certain age. Take a short written test. Prove to overcome some very simple tasks at the wheel, & (bam)...you're well capable to operate a 3 ton SUV. yeah...nnnno. I could go on. & on. & on...lol...too many analogies involving licensing, or "permissions".
Anyway...Let me step off this soap-box.
Sorry bout that.
Kickass though. I'm sure you'll do well. You seem to be one of the folks that would serve any area well if armed & ,heaven forbid, a bad situation occurred.
Do good. practice practice practice. & don't be "that-guy"lol..
oh, stay in practice.
In Texas you fire 50 total rounds at 3 different distances into a silohouette. If hit outside it they are supposed to fail you.
i am going this morning. what i read was you must make 175 points firing 50 rounds in different cadences at 9, 21, and 45 feet. if you miss the target you dont get any points and if you do that then you can miss the 175 mark.
i am good. my buddies that took it already said you can get your 175 in the first 2 distances.

took the course yesterday. perfect score on the written (easy) and i got a 245 on the shooting. i remember the shot i missed. a guy was shooting in a stall next to mine and had a some huge monster revolver. i didnt know this and right before i shot he did.
i felt it in my chest and i flinched. missed the damn target "0" points.
i did OK for the rest of the course and would have had a perfect score even though my group was a bit big but still in the 8-9 rings

hell yes my man! kickass! & congrats!!!
Those groups prove you well capable of good center-mass POI.
Awesome bro! Glad to hear it!
Practice up & you'll be putting the whole mag thru one inch-n-a-half hole in the target at 21' before long.
I've gotten lucky and done that once.
with only 1 flyer....or 2.lol.

LOL. i used my brothers glock 19 to qualify. i sold my full size pistol for $$$ to get my AR15.
all i have is a little mouse gun P3AT .380. i could have done fair at 3 and 7 yards but 15 would have been a *****.

That is the worst shooting I've ever done. With a P3AT. I probably wouldn't have even hit the target at 45ft with half the mag.lol. I'm not knocking the KT .380. I really liked my P32. Basically the exact same gun. I just couldn't hit worth a flip passed 15ft with it, & worse with the .380. The .32 has slightly more visible sights.
I always figured it was the barrell length until I fired my 1st 5rnds from my latest .38spcl w/ 1 7/8" barrell. That .38 is too damn bulky & heavy to CC IWB though.
