He even says if you ask for the pat down to demand that they put on a new pair of gloves. I could see them getting pissed off at someone being so demanding.

The little podunk airport where I live doesn't have scanners or do the enhanced pat down. Just the good old fashioned metal detector.

I've been saying this all along and telling people they shouldn't get the radiation. These scanners never went through the level of testing that radar emitting equipment should go through. And you are right on with Chertoff. He makes big money on the sales of these machines. Sickening isn't it. What I don't get is why so many Americans simply ignore the TSA and Homeland Security trampling on our rights. Why is it that every Democrat and Republican I talk to says the same lame thing, it's to protect us against terrorist. Well, how many terrorists have you seen get into airports. And how many millions of flights are there every single day. So what are the odds of getting killed in a terrorist attack? I'd rather take my chances than give up my fourth amendment right, unlike the vast majority of naive Americans. Don't people realize that every time we lose a right it is in the name of protecting us from terrorism? I would bet a lot of the recent close calls with terrorists were set up to scare us once again, or permitted to get to the point of almost getting away with it. Such as the underwear bomber and the shoe bomber. What sense did those make? Neither one was able to ignite their device for some strange reason, and both were allowed to fly even though they had shady backgrounds. The underwear bomber didn't even have a passport. And there are two witnesses, a married couple who are both lawyers that said they watched a white male in a black suit escort the underwear bomber to the counter to make sure he got on the plane. This was never put in the major media, but the couple did try to come forward. They said that investigators weren't interested in their testimony basically. And how about the terrorists in England that put bomb material in water bottles or some other liquid container? That one led to our not being able to have liquids in containers larger than 3.8 ounces or whatever the hell it is. I wouldn't be surprised if lobbyists for the companies that make toiletries asked for that law so they could sell more products. When does it all stop? In Russia a terrorist let a bomb off at the gate which is very crowded these days due to the scanners and pat downs. So I'm wondering when they will start checking us upon entering the airport. But why do people think this is worth it in the name of fighting terror? People want to give up their own rights to protect ourselves. Not me, I'd rather take my chances. I fly as little as I can anymore and would not fly at all if I could help it. I refuse to go through the radar so I have to take the pat down. I wonder how many pedophiles work at the TSA now.

Eventually we won't have any rights. It is creeping incrementalism. The eventual retraction of all rights. It will take a while but at the current rate all the ones that matter will be gone. We are well on our way to a police state, in which you have to be extra careful everyday to not do anything that is against some law or regulation. Is that the kind of America people want to live in? But so long as it's in the name of protecting us from terrorists I guess its worth it...right?
