carter, hmmm, i lived in dc during the whole thing

i always tell u hate motivates, country hated what nixon done, voted in honest religious guy, he was a micro-manager and aloof, he was right on lot's of things, yet, kennedy wanted his shot at president, split party, and whether u folks choose to believe it or not, the day after the helicopters crashed killing six soldiers he was one and done, it had as much coverage and outrage and 9-11 at the time, thus, he get's his brand, rightly or wrongly, but, ya know i makes me own evaluations and am fine with it

Trip just because the helicopters came in does not mean Carter lost the presidency,so then answer my questuion since Ross Perot ran Bush Sr lost. Your blow jo President is going down the path of demigoding and I kinda of hope so because he is now at a all time low at 41% approval rating and that sure aint fox news poll ratings its all the other major polls

lol, carter was actually right on lot's of stuff, hmmm, clean energy, uh yeah, oil issues yeah

carter lost cause six troops died in a midnight attempt to release iranian hostages, came out, uhhhh, helicopters did not have filtration for the desert sand, and broke

Why would you have protested to oust the Shah of Iran. From everything I read, and which I do believe to be true, the Shah was set up by Carter and the media played right along with it. Under his rule, Iran had no terrorist groups, was open to all religions, did not govern with Sharia Law, and was a friend to Israel. He was replaced by a radical Islamic dictator who instituted Sharia Law, had all supporters of the previous Shah murdered, and created terrorist organizations. Of course people are free to choose whichever story they wish, but I read many accounts of this page in history and believe what I just explained. In this case, Carter is completely responsible for the terrorism that exists today and the radical country that Iran has become. And you mean to tell me that you protested there on behalf of the Carter regime's propaganda fest. Another interesting and sickening thing to note is that Carter assured the Shah he could live in the U,S. in exile, but then refused him once he agreed to step down. But when he came down with Cancer, Carter welcomed him here to get treatment, yet when he arrived they put him on a waiting list which would have taken at least a year to get treatment. It seemed as if they were trying to get him to die. Finally he was welcomed by his one true friend, the then president of Egypt. A couple months or so after going to Egypt he died of cancer. Shortly thereafter Egypt's president was assassinated by radicals who were supporters of the new Shah of Iran and Sharia Law. This was punishment for taking in the former Shah. Today the former Shah's widow wife lives in Washington D.C. I watched an interview and life story of her and the Shah a while back. It was sad to hear her account on how good of a man he was and how he was ousted of power, only to be replaced by a vicious dictator. I'm not so sure of how much freedom Iran truly had at that time but I am quite certain it was more so than they have today. The former Shah's top general wrote a book that explains the events. I have not read it yet but plan to. He said the Shah was a nice man, and that it was disgraceful and sad to see how the Carter administration, along with the FBI and some top generals, made up lies about him and forced him out of power.

You don't think high gas prices that led to long lines at gas stations, and high inflation had any impact on it at all? I'll give you that the military tragedy didn't help, but I'm pretty sure his days were numbered regardless. The country was in terrible economic shape, which tends to be a top issue among voters in presidential races. Sometimes you amaze me Trip. Once again, I don't know a single Libertarian who would think of Carter as a good president. I guess the Libertarian magazines and websites I frequent are of a different breed.

gas prices were not high, i was pumping gas from 75-80

gas lines happened in 73, it lasted about 3 days, yeah u had to wait in line yet everyone got there gas, no problems, gas went from 30-60 cents and then back down, 3 years later it went too about 50 cents and staid there thru-out the rest of the decade, thus the nexas for the energy crisis

yes, there was inflation, but also inflation in wages, so it really wasn't as bad as folks make it out to be

democrats, don't like labels, try and minimize them all the time, such to the point there dream is everyone allright all the time, we can't have too good or too bid, just right for everyone, ie, no winners or losers, it's not that they dislike winners, they're always trying to prevent and stop losing, losers

libertarians, they're only a half dozen that work well, let's keep true to them and deal and minimize the rest as time goes on, Keep It Simple Simple

Well ofcourse its Important to me so I know what party your for theres nothing wrong in that at all.Trip theres nothing wrong in you letting us know what party your for I think you just screwed up when you said you were a libertarian and you meant Liberal dude because your posts dont reflect a libertarian so why not admit it.
