  • Schwarzenegger announces 'The Governator' cartoon

Arnold Schwarzenegger's first big project since leaving office has been revealed, and as rumored, will feature the actor/politician as a larger-than-life superhero.

The 63-year-old has announced in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly that he’s teaming up with legendary comic book genius Stan Lee to bring the animated series, titled “The Governator” to life.

“When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘The Governator’, I thought the word was so cool,” he told EW. “The word Governator combined two worlds – the world of politics and the movie world. And the cartoon brings everything together. It combines the governor, the ‘Terminator’, the bodybuilding world, the ‘True Lies’ world.”

Said Stan: ”Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting centre under his house in Brentwood.”

Along with a teenage team that assists "The Governator" in fighting various injustices, Schwarzenegger's alter ego will also have a suit that allows him to breathe underwater and turn invisible. Oh yea - and a fleet of "eco-friendly cars"; which is different from the actual reality of the former Governor's garage.

According to sources, Lee is working overtime to deliver a "Governator" prototype in time for the Comic Con convention in July. The current schedule has the series and a comic book launching by the end of 2012.

Schwarzenegger will officially unveil his plans for "The Governator" during the annual MIPTV international festival in Cannes, France next week on April 4.

he was a doin what he had to do to be "PC" and keep his job. He's out of politics now and he can be himself again. You got to respect that he still keeps his name in bodybuilding with the arnold classic.

I'm with you Fuzo. Arnold used to be my favorite famous person, one whom I respected tremendously. But after he became governor I lost all respect for him. He might as well have been a Democrat. I'm sure he will continue to be successful though. He is a very talented man.

You're probably right here, but why can't politicians maintain some standard of morals and principles after being elected.

Most would not, correct. I know of one man who would try but nobody here seems to like him much. I only care about the truth, so I do my own research and form my opinions based on my findings. Not a lot of people take that step. Most just listen to the talking heads on TV and the radio and believe every word they say. But to keep it on subject, Arnold did what 99.9% of all politicians do, sell their soul. There aren't many true leaders anymore. Just about everyone has a price tag and is willing to retract our individual liberties in exchange. Unfortunately most people don't even realize how valuable and vulnerable our liberties are. Each law passed represents an equal amount of liberty lost, and thousands of laws are implemented every year. We are scared into giving up the most essential ones during wars, which these days is never ending. We are kept in fear to make it easier to give them up. The Patriot Act and Homeland Security have done more to abuse liberty than anything in the past that I can recall. Those two have taken care of the 1st and 4th Amendments respectively. The 2nd Amendment is next on the list I suppose, but it will be the hardest to take. It will be the 10th Amendment that permits us to turn our country around if it should happen. Nullification via the 10th, states rights is the answer. Some governors are already beginning to take this step as we have seen with the Health Care Bill and gun laws. Maybe it will be governors that save our country from complete totalitarianism one day. If so, it won't be governors like Arnold, that's for sure.
