Anyone installed or use a wireless home security system? I'm about to go out of town for 6 months and am going to install a wireless alarm to give my wife a warm fuzzy feeling to go along with the 40 S&W she sleeps with. Are they difficult to setup? What is the battery life like on the sensors?

    Thanks

A buddy of mine who is in the business installed mine. Works like a charm but it is a pain in the ass with the batteries. I'd say they last a few months at a time but be sure to keep a stash on hand.

I have another alarm as well. Zeus, my 90lb brindle boxer. However his bark is much louder than his bite. He just wants play. But the bad guys don't know that

They sell motion detectors with a loud speaker that sounds like a pack of wild dogs ripping someones leg off...they pick up motion thru doors or wallls..that would work if you dont have a dog

Bull Mastiff. Zeus had a run in with one of those BIG bad boys. Neighbor has one and decided to walk it in front of my house. I happened to be out washing my car and did not see him coming. All of sudden my neighbor calls me and i see Zeus running circlse around the mastiff cause all zeus wants to do is play. well the mastiff wanted nothing to do with Zeus. As zeus was about to poke the mastiff, the mastiff turned and grabbed zeus by the neck. Seriously thought zeus was a goner. Zeus was so startled he jumped backwards into a fence, ran over to me, sat right down next to me, looks me in the eye as if to say "wtf". Zeus had a little bleeding going on and learned a good lesson

Installed the alarm today. It was pretty easy. Now if someone breaks in while I'm gone my wife will have enough warning time to drop some bodies.
